According to the infallible Lateran IV Council, only the Faithful (water baptized) are members of the Catholic Church and can be saved. St. Augustine asks, 'Are you a catechumen or a member of the faithful?' A clear distinction. Gregory XIII knew timeless infallible tradition.

The Reformation--accomplished in great part because of the Catholic Renaissance-- devolved into complete evil in every way imaginable. Here's a short summary of just one example of the depravity and complete loss of morals of the Protestants during the English Reformation:

The 1585 English Protestant law of persecution against Catholics exceeded total depravity. Not only were Catholics murdered for having a Catholic priest in their homes, but Catholics in the surrounding areas were also guilty, because they supposedly 'knew' that priest was there.

BOD by definition equals salvation outside the Church; because, none are in the Church without the sacrament of baptism.

Only the Faithful--water baptized are incorporated into the Church, born again, buried with Christ in water baptism and receive His Character on their souls.

2. Receiving 'grace and righteousness (justice)' was never used to describe dead non-Catholics. It always meant water baptism.

Velikovec The entire treatise on baptism consistently contradicts BOD. The multiple writers of that large work on baptism were not ignorant. They clearly
would have known that this one sentence contradicted everything else they wrote, if, in fact, they were teaching BOD. They weren't.

The Last Gospel of the Mass declares no one can be born again, not by their own will or flesh (desire), not even by their blood (sanguinibus), but only by God (water John 3:5). Sanguinibus (bloods) is plural meaning blood shed, pouring out:

Death.

Neither BOD or BOB can save.

We who reject the Baptism of Desire for salvation speculation are against it because BOD is a rejection not only of Church dogma, but of Christ Himself. It's defined that there no salvation outside the Catholic Church, and defined none can be in the Church without water baptism.

We must include all that the Council defined on baptism and salvation, and there is no doubt it rejects BOD.

Loradias Baronius, a humble man and later a Cardinal, was for decades a disciple of St. Philip Neri at his Roman Oratory in the 16th century. Philip asked him to write a Church history defending the Church. It became the great historic work (12 volumes) called the Annales Ecclesiastici.

The Catechism of the Council of Trent does not teach Baptism of Desire.

The clear answer is that Christ has both human and divine natures, but He is one person. Not one person to the exclusion altogether of the other nature, as if Christ is somehow not a human.

There is no infallible document supporting your assertion. Please answer: 1. Based on your understanding, does a person who goes to heaven by means of BOD receive the Character of Christ on his soul? 2. Do you claim catechumens are the same as the faithful ( the water baptized )?
