While much of the UK Commando Force is deployed with NATO in Norway, operations continue in the #RedSea . Boarding Teams from 42 Commando Royal Marines embarked on HMS Richmond assist with the freedom of passage by intercepting weapons and drugs used to fund Houthi attacks.

Great to see the ongoing development of the Nigerian SBS, a long-term partner of the UK Commando Force.

Last week, the Secretary of State for Defence, the Rt Hon Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP MP, visited #Plymouth and the HMNB Devonport. He got a firsthand experience of the new Commando Raiding Craft (CRC) with 47 Commando (Raiding Group) Royal Marines and saw 42 Commando Royal Marines's Maritime Interdiction capability.

Royal Marine Sergeant Tom Hughes, whose marksmanship has been honoured by His Majesty The King.

Tom, who serves with 42 Commando Royal Marines, earned the medal as Champion Shot of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Today, HQ UK Commando Force hosted Brigadier Terje Bruøygard, the Norwegian Commmmander of the North Brigade, at Stonehouse. He discussed upcoming exercises with Brigadier Duncan Forbes and the further opportunities to partner bilaterally and as members of The Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) and NATO.
