Day 12 of our ADE

Today we took part in a sports competition with the 9th Alpini that consisted of rock climbing, grenade throwing, tire flipping, running and tug of war.

4PWRR managed to win 4-1 against the Italian's.

We ended with an award ceremony and recieved gifts.

Day 11

Yesterday we completed our FTX in the Italian mountains.

The troops finished their tasks which followed on from the day before.

We then had a social with our Italian counterparts before returning to camp.

A great end to a challenging couple of days!

Day 10 of our ADE Completato! 🇬🇧🇮🇹

Yesterday we conducted patrols through the mountains and carried out a number of actions.

This included Fire Missions, Detention Ops, VCPs, Rappelling, CTRs and a Mass Casualty scenario.

Day 9 of our ADE

Today we deployed into the field on our FTX.

This started with an ascent up Monte Puzzillo at 2174m, we then held a service with our Italian partners.

Following this, we descended to establish our base camp before moving out on RECCE patrols.

Today our troops enjoy R&R in Rome.

On Monday we deploy on our Final Test Exercise which will challenge the troops in all aspects of the training they received the week before.

Congratulations to LCpl Morris on his promotion yesterday.

Given by the Brigade Commander himself in recognition of his efforts over the last year and a strong performance on the Regular Fire Team Commanders Course.

He will now take on the pivotal role of Section 2IC!

Yesterday whilst on the mountains, we hosted our Brigade Commander (11SFAB), Brigadier Stenhouse DSO MBE.

He visited the interoperability training being conducted with the 9th Alpini Regiment which consisted of rappelling, shooting and SOPs.

Day 5 ✅️

We have almost completed the 1st week of our ADE, conducting bilateral training with the 9th Alpini Regiment.

Today was day 2 of the Platoon rotations, we looked at the climbing and rappelling activity. Tomorrow we will focus on SOPs and interoperability training.

Day 4 of our ADE.

We conducted our first Platoon rotation. The focus today was the mountain ascent which was followed by shooting of the Italian ARX-160 rifle and Beretta 92FS pistol.

Tomorrow we will be covering the mountain rappelling activity

Day 3 of our ADE now complete.

A busy day consisting of PT, zip-lining, climbing, abseiling and weapons handling.

Tomorrow me move into our Platoon rotations which will see us conducting shooting, mountaineering, rappelling and interoperability training with the Italian's.

Today our troops got hands-on with the Italian Army weapon systems.

This included the rifle, pistol, machine guns and some company support weapons.

Tomorrow we will be conducting some abseiling drills.

Today, 4PWRR deploy on our Annual Deployment Exercise (ADE) to Italy - Exercise Roman Star 23.

Over the next 2 weeks, we will conduct joint training with our NATO allies, the Italian Army, to test and demonstrate interoperability.
