It'd be useful to understand how much the leaseholders of Lock Building have had to pay in increased insurance, internal fire safety works, alarms, waking watches &upcoming Building Safety Regulator costs.
We hope this taxpayer funded video created by Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities will provide this info.

Matthew Pennycook MP Thanks for your support, Matthew Pennycook MP.

Leaseholders, including shared owners, need more than protection.

We need control of the homes we bought.

We must be able to easily fire rip-off agents and vote on service charge budgets. Transparency is inadequate.

Matthew Pennycook MP Thank you Matthew Pennycook MP for speaking up.

However, we do not need more endless conversation and consultation.

It is time for action. The Tories are giving us transparency but are resistant to giving us control, which is what matters.

We look forward to The Labour Party manifesto.

Matthew Pennycook MP When you win change the law. Abolish leasehold, introduce commonhold, find a better way than shared ownership there are plenty of international examples, find the balls to make the hard but right decisions Matthew Pennycook MP The Labour Party

Matthew Pennycook MP But we’ve had 7 years of conversation on leaseholder rights.

The Labour Party needs to grasp the nettle and commit to bold legislation for its first term of government.

These stock replies from Lab MPs to desperate leaseholders don’t inspire confidence. No pledge to bring in a Bill!

End Our Cladding Scandal Lee Rowley Yes, Lee Rowley, I’ll be bankrupted and my flat repossessed long before works starts on my block. SHG/Optivo say buyback contingent on availability of funds and it being ‘a sustainable solution’. But once I’m broke they’ll have to buy my share back from Barclays anyway!

As the 7th anniversary of that terrible unnecessary fire at Grenfell approaches, lets renew the fight to get buildings fixed and leaseholders released. Remember also the next gvt needs now to work on the plan Matthew Pennycook MP Mike Amesbury MP 4/end

Yes, the gvt has acted BUT the funding is partial, and the Building Safety Act isn't achieving much for remediation. But lawyers are doing quite nicely (not academics 😉).
For the vast number of people impacted nothing has changed. yet they carry the burden. 2/4

Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities End Our Cladding Scandal Leaseholders beware : you must request a Landlord Certificate. landlords are in some cases issuing incorrect Landlord Certificate. Check your certificate, when you receive, very carefully.

Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities this guide says: Landlords MUST provide landlord certificate to all leaseholders in relevant building. IT’S NOT TRUE. RTMs still waiting for LL to issue Cert. LL refuses until a “trigger” happens. These are all outside of RTM control. End Our Cladding Scandal gov.uk/guidance/defin…
