After another rewatch of I SAW THE TV GLOW, I’m even more confident about my initial assessment of it as a masterful work. Also Brigette Lundy-Paine and Justice Smith give two of the most earth-shattering performances of the year. Just incredible visceral acting.

I’m not sure how to put this into words But I Saw The TV Glow captures the very specific feeling of finding someone who appreciates your hyperfixation and in turn fixating on them. Beautiful, melancholy, weird, and heartbreaking. Jane Schoenbrun wins again!
