Did you know 13 million children in the US are food insecure? Rates 📈 of food insecurity in rural areas 🌾 and southern states are higher compared to the rest of the country. Minorities and single-parent households are affected the most. #GlobalChildNutritionMonth 🍎🌍

Food insecurity’s deleterious effects extend beyond hunger. In the short term, we see developmental delays and behavioral issues. Long term, there is a higher prevalence of food-sensitive chronic disease, cardiovascular risks, and risk for asthma. #GlobalChildNutritionMonth 🍎🌍
