The homelessness crisis isn’t an unavoidable fact of life, it’s the direct result of political choices made by those in power. And as those choices have been made, they can be unmade. But only if we’re organised and willing to fight for it.

We are.

Homelessness isn’t a force of nature, or an act of god. It’s a political choice made by the people in power.

Every day that the homelessness crisis continues is a stain on the hands of those who hold power in this country. A stain that will never wash off.

A 30% (£700) rent increase is pure greed enabled by a rotten housing system, plain and simple.

We need rent controls, badly. But we also need an entirely new housing system that prioritises people’s need for housing over lining the pockets of the wealthy.
