Breaking ground on the last phase of the Norfolk Harbor deepening with Corps of Engineers today! This project will make the The Port of Virginia the deepest on the East Coast, supporting the economy & national security. Also, using dredged sand to protect coastal communities: a win-win!

Debris and wreckage removal continues to safely and efficiently open the Fort McHenry channel. 🏗 In this photo from Wednesday, the scale of the effort is evident as salvors on a barge examine wreckage from the #FSKBridge collapse removed from the Patapsco River.
Happy to join USACE HQ, US Department of the Interior, & Bureau of Reclamation to testify about President Biden FY25 Budget with House Appropriations & House Appropriations Democrats. Important investments in the budget will restore & improve our water resources to benefit the nation as well as maintain readiness to address national emergencies.
PDASA Pinkham toured #FSKBridge salvage operations today & visited the Unified Command with Governor Wes Moore. Important work underway by the interagency team & USACE Baltimore to recover those lost, clear the wreckage, & reopen the federal channel. Thanks Ms. Zimmerman for joining.
Each day we clear more #FSKBridge wreckage from the channel and come closer to restoring the port for the people of Baltimore. Thank you to the staff & volunteers working in Unified Command who drive this process, and to Governor Wes Moore for his leadership in the wake of the collapse
Conducted an aerial and harbor visit of the #FSKBridge recovery effort yesterday. The combined efforts of our federal and state governments, including the USACE Baltimore, NAVSEA, and U.S. Coast Guard are delivering results in the aftermath of the tragedy.
We appreciate the strong support on actions for #FSKBridge recovery efforts. Very good discussion today on the resources available to clear the channel and the important partnerships that help us move forward with this challenging work.
