Back into training for 2024. Great to review some airway techniques with the techs and jump down a few holes. Always a challenge playing medic in the austere environment

After our TheResusRoom episode on refractory VF, it’s interesting to read that Hato Hone St John have adopted both DSD and withholding adrenaline into their clinical practice guidelines (not that I think our episode influenced this decision of course!

Eyes are on you now NZ 👀

After 2.5 months of no nights due to settling in with our real life tamagotchi it is back to the DDNN roster. Nice to be back supporting staff and patients on the ECHO unit. Haven’t missed it but still nice to be back.

PS fatherhood is pretty cool 😁

Interesting perspective.

Pseudo PEA IMO could be one of the biggest areas of gain in the pre-hospital setting. There is some interesting work on POCUS occuring in this area but in the short term what could we change?

This whole DSD thing makes paperwork a little bizarre. 40 shocks in an arrest is counter intuitive but with DSD the numbers get up there.

Unfortunately we were unsuccessful this time around. Will be interesting to see how the statistics go with it being rolled out in

🤔

Question for the prehospital masses.
If you need to gain entry to a property does your service routinely require police to be present?
We do not require it yet most crews will not progress without.

Privileged to be presenting at the region burns forum on Hato Hone St John capacity and burn guidelines. Great to network and share the prehospital story which is often forgotten but can hold some of the biggest impact on patient outcome

Our retired ambulances are ready in Ukraine 🇺🇦 🚑

Six now have camouflage paint while the seventh remains white and will become a mobile health unit. Each one has been given a te reo Māori name 💛
