Having faced provinces obstructing progress on housing, the federal government has increasingly worked directly with municipalities.

In response to this, the province of Alberta is now introducing legislation to block such direct partnerships. Ludicrous.

After a year of complaining that the housing crisis was all the fault of the federal government, provincial governments are now complaining they're doing something about it 🤷‍♂️

I don't know how many times this has to be said, but..I will reiterate 🗣️📢 The main driver of homelessness isn't drugs or drug use, it's poverty, trauma, evictions and the lack of access to proper/ supportive housing!

We have a great, ESRC WGSSS funded PhD opportunity. You'll work with me, Ian Thomas, and Shelter Cymru, using their administrative data to explore access to housing justice in Wales. We'll also be working closely with ADR Wales. Deadline is 19th April. findaphd.com/phds/project/e…

The federal government can make investments in this budget that will prevent people from losing their homes and begin to reduce homelessness across Canada in the next 12 to 18 months.

Here’s how: action.caeh.ca/budget24

This is such an amazing presentation by Gregg Colburn for CAEH and I can't believe I missed when it came out! I use the same argument comparing Finland, Canada, and the US.

'Fraser said that's a lot less than the government's existing $4 billion housing accelerator fund, which sends money to cities that cut housing-related red tape and allow more homes to be built on a particular plot of land.'

Would love to see my municipal tax dollars go to pay the rent of a few people for a year rather than spent on this strange anti-homeless PR campaign.
