For what it’s worth, I think it’s absolutely right that council money should be spent on civic engagement bristol247.com/news-and-featu…

Some very interesting names here including one candidate who I think is standing for his third different party. Top work by Sofia Dhame putting this epic list together bristol247.com/news-and-featu…

Protesting outside an MP's place of work - whether that's Parliament, a constituency office or party HQ is perfectly legit IMO

But protesting outside - and on the premises of - an MP's home (which they may share with children, or elderly parents) crosses a line into intimidation

Shining a light on Bristol’s incredible music scene has been such a joy these past two years!

I’m incredibly sad to say goodbye (I’m off travelling for a few months!) but I can’t recommend this role enough 🤍

As someone who worked for the NHS doing admin in a job that with a decent IT system wouldn’t have needed to exist. This is definitely a good use of public funds 👍.

We should legalise building these in the UK. I’d much sooner have rented this than a single room in a HMO split between five people and if I were renting this instead, the HMO could have been used as a family home as it was built for

If the council doesn’t pass a budget the tories in Westminster will get to decide our budget 👍, get a grip and work together.

🆕 “Labour’s in politics to make a difference, not excuses.

If you absent yourself from the entire process, unwilling to operate in the country’s political reality of continued austerity, you may as well not be here.” 👇

The largest party on Bristol City Council doesn’t have any ideas on how to improve the budget? Very disappointing but not unexpected…

This is far from true and completely disingenuous, but hey why let the facts get in the way of political point scoring!

Wow. John Healey MP here says recent comments about October 7th being an inside job were ‘not antisemitic’

A classic case of downplaying antisemitism. For years we heard this was grounds for an immediate suspension.

Will Keir Starmer do anything?

What Azhar Ali said was far more offensive than the comments that Andy McDonald had the whip withdrawn for. You either tolerate this stuff or you don’t - political expediency shouldn’t come into it.

Whatever position you take on Gaza it seems hard to reconcile the official Labour position that Kate Osamor was beyond the pale but an apology is good enough for the Rochdale candidate Azhar Ali
