Tim, Althorp's dandy Peacock taking a well deserved rest after hours of repelling peacocks that were daring to come near to his 'wifelets' today.
Tim's 'train' (tail) is absolutely amazing this year, and doesn't he know it!

Sika and Fallow deer in Althorp park today.
The main House and Stables provide a beautiful backdrop.

Roe buck & Muntjac buck enjoying some early morning sunshine at the Althorp estate. I've always thought that Roe deer are the most attractive of all the UK's deer species.

Red Stag at our Norfolk Estate. It looked as if his antlers had very recently 'cast'. He certainly surprised me by jumping out of the brambles in one of our smaller woodland edges. By the time I grabbed my camera he was half way to Holkham, next door!

Pair of Egyptian geese out and about with their goslings, all on a typical village green in Norfolk!

Wild English Partridges on the Norfolk Estate today. Once a very common bird in the countryside grey partridge have declined sharply. Dedicated land owners and conservationists are managing land to restore their numbers and meet their needs for survival.

A wrens nest and a long-tailed tits nest.
Both beautifully constructed, both domed and well lined, but I must say that LTT's are bespoke craftsmen of the very highest quality where the wren is an accomplished rustic builder.

The 'oscar' winning Mallard from last week in Althorp park still has her brood in tow.

I'm inclined to think that 'Minty' one of the two pet sheep Althorp is... how do I put it politely? 'A little broad in the beam'. Very happy looking though I must say.

Garganey, in Althorps Oval lake.
This scarce summer visitor is a dabbling duck, it's smaller than a Mallard and bigger than a teal. This male had most likely flown in from central Africa. What a striking eyebrow this duck has.
