Well, after a week of 1:1 meetings where every student was unwell, guess who's now also unwell.

Feeling really rough and frustrated as I have got so much I need to do today but am currently sitting on sofa with hot lemon and honey, sneezing my head off.

Half term has been unexpectedly stressful, worrying and very, very expensive. However, I have much to be thankful for.

This beauty in my landing has been in bloom for at least four months - never fails to make me pause and admire.

Made enquiries at two menopause clinics yesterday - quoted between £250 and £300 for initial consultation. No wonder so many women suffer in silence when support is this extortionate #MenopauseAwarenessMonth

Insomnia is now so bad I've booked in for acupuncture on Friday. Cannot function on the amount of sleep I am managing.

New term, new habits. Homemade lunch - fewer calories and saving money. Joined gym after work, long dog walk, no snacks today!

For the first time, I actually felt like my summer holiday was a holiday where I got to do what I wanted. I didn't spend it catching up on chores (still need doing!), Decorating or sorting things out for my parents.

It was much enjoyed and well needed.

Three more days of term, feel like I am clinging on by my fingertips.

Heard someone refer to a 'free range timetable ' the other day....

Meet and greet at a school this morning, thirty minutes settling student and getting them ready to learn....
Member of staff walks past and first comment is 'You're not wearing school shoes'

Today I did a home visit and managed to get a student into school for the afternoon. I've promised to meet them at reception tomorrow.

So proud of that young person today.

Once got asked to cover yr5/6 French with five mins notice - no planning.

We did age - students asked how old I was. Couldn't remember how to say 42 in French so said 21. Bless em' they believed me!

Secondary English teachers - do any of you use the acronym PETER or PETA to help students structure answers? If so please can you let me know what it stands for - trying to help a student who's moved schools. TIA

FiL and wife declined Christmas invite because they were unsure about mixing due to C19. Fair enough. Until this afternoon when I glance at Facebook and discover that they are spending day with his wife's family.

Nearly there!! Hang in there folks and when end term arrives have a restful, healthy break. You may not feel it but you are amazing! You've been a constant in an inconsistent world and that makes a huge difference.
