.Spotlight Initiative is helping to stem violence against women and girls around the world.
We need a $1 billion fund operating in 60 countries to prevent 70 million more women experiencing violence.
In my meeting with Caroline Gennez, we discussed United Nations-Belgium cooperation, with a focus on accelerating action for the #SDGs especially in complex settings.
We continue to value our strong partnership with Belgium.
I spoke with Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra on EU-United Nations partnership on #ClimateAction , including the 2040 targets and high ambition on the NDCs.
We count on the EU’s continuous leadership to keep 1.5C alive and deliver climate justice.
At a time of competing priorities, immense geopolitical tensions and fraying trust, it’s essential that we focus on what matters most.

The devastating Israeli airstrikes that killed World Central Kitchen personnel yesterday bring the number of aid workers killed in this conflict to 196 – including more than 175 members of our own United Nations staff.
