Feb 8 is #NationalBlackWomenPhysiciansDay ! A day to celebrate Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the first Black woman to graduate medical school in the U.S. in 1864, and all who paved the way for us.
But let's not forget... today, in 2024, still only 2% of physicians are Black women.
One of the many reasons I love The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) . Meeting some wonderful aspiring pre-medical/medical students and connecting with homies I’ve met along the way training. 🤩💜 #RMEC #Region1 Jocelyn McGill Preston Igwe, MD
