A mix of sunshine and very heavy showers today at RAF Topcliffe.

Yesterday cadets Malpus, Knowles, Roughly and Leech from 969 St Helens Sqn attended 645 VGS at RAF Topcliffe to conduct their gliding induction flights! The 4 cadets took to the skies of North Yorkshire in the Viking T1 glider, learning how to control pitch roll and yaw.

A stunning day a RAF Topcliffe saw several cadets experiencing thermalling in a glider for the first time.

Busy day at RAF Topcliffe, we flew 29 launches inc Gliding Induction Flights for cadets from 1027 Jarrow, 1932 Blackhall, 733 Newcastle, 361 Gateshead Squadrons plus some staff training.
The views of North Yorkshire were stunning today.

As always it was an honour and a pleasure to fly cadets the Viking and such wonderful views.

We managed to squeeze some staff training in between thunderstorms yesterday at RAF Topcliffe.
