Whereas people with OCD usually have capacity in most areas , ability to weigh up factors in decisions related to obsessive thoughts usually generally impaired - same with #hoarding . I know people have been harmed by not recognising this
Huge thanks to Hope Virgo for shedding light on this important issue. The mismatch between what pts are being told verbally and what is written in their notes is very worryingโit's the opposite of shared decision making, and is dishonest & utterly disempowering.

Using the MHA can be lifesaving. Peopleโs views change during treatment

Many stories confirmed yesterday that the wish to die is temporary and people are grateful for support to recover.
James Downs We have zero suicide policies, which resulted in investments in research and learning from these tragedies. So, I agree that aspiring to stop avoidable deaths in eating disorders is a worthwhile and achievable goal. The goal of medical emergency guidelines was precisely that
