I was able to take a photo of a rare Wood Stork at Hontoon Island. These birds have suffered from the destruction and degradation of our state’s wetlands. Today, the Wood Stork is classified as “Threatened” by the State of Florida and the federal government.

Special thanks to the firefighting staff at Embry-Riddle as well as the thousands of firefighters at the academy. I learned so much at the Urban Interface course, including structure protection and suppression. Also made life-long friendships with other firefighters!

Sunrise at the Grand Canyon this morning. Woke up at 4am and hiked for 7 hours on the South Kaibab Trail. Pretty proud of myself that Im still in decent shape!

It’s been raining nonstop for 24 hours now in Florida. So far, the rainwater collection system has collected over 1000 gallons of rainwater, which is stored in the back of the tiny home. No water bill for a few months! This is offgrid living!
