Sherrie Griffin I think this is really off base. “Elite” players are still playing the best of the best in the various circuits (EYBL, 3SSB, UA Circuit), but it is also allowing kids to play and improve from April-July. You can find the bad in everything, but you can find the good too.

Folks paying to play on circuits, and don’t even know it.. ppl don’t even know how deals work.. it’s all about the 💰 at this point unless you got the relationships..

Sherrie Griffin The sport has grown so much.. the elite play on circuit teams for the most part … only certain teams can go to those events… there is definitely levels to it
Sherrie Griffin Just make sure your elite player is on an elite team playing against elite competition. Every team/ player is not elite. Should they not continue to play and develop to become elite?

Sherrie Griffin This is why there are various levels. As a former AAU coach my class of 2021 team had 8 kids that went on to play D3 basketball. They weren't elite but hard working kids who loved the sport. Nothing wrong with that. They def weren't rec kids.....

Sherrie Griffin There have always been good players, bad players, good teams, and bad teams. There are teams at every tournament from the beginning of time that don't win a single game at their local tournaments. Elite at the national level maybe, but it is far from every player on every team.

BostonChips Sherrie Griffin No one is blaming the teams. But that is why it’s watered down now. Now I do know organizations blow smoke up parents butts to get them to believe their kids are elite. To take their money. lol.
Sherrie Griffin It still is. You just have to know how to separate the janky organizations over the good ones. Also, bous talent level(skills & fundamentals) has really fallen off. So even the elite programs look a lot like participation programs...smh.
