Highway 50 is back OPEN in both directions between Twin Bridges and Sierra. There will be additional one-way controls later this afternoon for cleanup work.

Interstate 80 remains CLOSED today between Colfax and the Nevada DOT state line due to continued heavy snow, high winds and low visibility. There's still no ETO. Highway 50 is OPEN but there have been traffic holds throughout the morning for avalanche control and spinouts.

Caltrans is reminding truck drivers that Highway 49 through Sierra County is not an alternate route to bypass I-80 and there's a 65-foot length restriction. Violators will face a fine and be turned around. 49 is currently closed between Downieville and Sattley.
