There's no worker justice without climate justice.

In NYS we can pass the TEMP bill to require employers to safeguard their workers from the hazards of extreme weather conditions.

And a low TDI benefit! Paid sick leave is supposed to be a meaningful wage replacement, but it's been capped at $170/week since 1989.

How is anyone supposed to pay their rent and navigate our hellish healthcare system with that?

Manual workers build our cities and keep them running, and need to be paid on time. Thanks to Jessica Ramos and Harry B. Bronson for keeping reduced penalties for late wage payments out of the state budget!

.Governor Kathy Hochul wanted to gut penalties on businesses that failed to pay manual workers—many of whom live paycheck to paycheck—on time. We're grateful the legislature fought back & protected our families from yet another attack by corporate interests. Thank you to

Have been feeling low this week, what with our State leaders (again) ignoring the needs of low-income families. But then I met with moms in our advocacy fellowship who reminded me that the fight may be long but there are endless reasons to still feel hopeful & energized.

Absolutely! The impact of the expanded Child Tax Credit was drastically reducing poverty. Letting it expire pushed millions back into hardship while billionaires' wealth soared. It's time to prioritize families over fortunes.

Passed the New York State Senate

This week, Cornell ILR School’s Wage Atlas Tool issued a staggering report: only half of working NYers earn a living wage.

This bill requires the DOL to collect & share data with the legislature on the true cost of living & scale of poverty in our state.
