The '8 Balls' astronaut class turns 10 today! 🎱
NASA's 21st astronaut class of 8 exceptional men and women, chosen from >6,000 candidates, was announced #OTD in 2013. 2 of them, Christina H Koch and Victor Glover, have since been selected to fly to the Moon on #Artemis II.
Every time I do STEM outreach, I leave feeling sure that I got more out of it than the students. No exception last week when we got to share some space design demos with students after the NASA Artemis II crew announcement. Thank you!!
Happy Cosmonautics Day to space colleagues and enthusiasts around the world! Today is the 62nd anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight to space, a first for humanity.

This week, we got a new crew, a new mission. And, we reaffirmed our forever crew and mission—an NASA Astronauts Corps that lifts each other up to be our best for human exploration.
On this last day of #womenshistorymonth , shouting out to the space station builders, science doers, equipment fixers, systems upgraders, flight controllers, leaders, operators, space walkers, and fitness crushers that make the International Space Station successful.

For #womenshistorymonth , we see how crews on International Space Station with multiple women are finally becoming common. Why’s this matter? To me, it’s making more successful missions and a world where people with a dream work equally hard to reach that dream. Here’s to my own astro sisters!
New astronauts onboard the International Space Station in the last couple weeks already pros in their new home doing science to benefit life on Earth and maintenance to keep the microgravity lab running at full speed!
Stepping onto the rocket, stepping off the planet.
Four years ago today, we set off as a crew to the International Space Station and as part of a huge team committed to exploration for the benefit of Earth.
Going. Going. Gone. Moonset from International Space Station. Chasing that moon with NASA Artemis!
Photos I took, circa summer 2019.
…It’s also a testament to NASA’s commitment to explore For All and By All. We take this commitment with us to the moon with NASA Artemis!
