this is definitely my favorite example of this whining. whole piece about how unfair it is that people won't talk to him yet this guy somehow decides not to quote the person who did want to talk to him (and has family in Gaza!) x.com/allisongeroi/s…

So I think it’s been established that the “official” here is Netanyahu, but I just want to note that another way you could’ve written this headline is “Israeli Demand to Keep Killing Palestinians Thwarting Truce Efforts.”

Chief White House reporter for the New York Times admonishing 20-year-olds for refusing to talk to a literal Reagan speechwriter. I’ve never seen anything like it

Once again: The UVA encampment protesting the killing of 33,000 innocent civilians in Gaza has been completely peaceful & not disruptive at all. When cops were called in today, protesters were reading, sleeping, & talking with each other. This show of force is completely unjust.

When we train Indivisibles we tell them to designate a press contact and have all the other participants refer journalists to the press contact. This is 101 stuff. Strange how it’s suddenly sinister when it comes to pro-Palestine protests!

That will go down like a shart in a crowded elevator with Terfdemort and her groupies. 😆

(Btw I checked and it’s a genuine Musk tweet)

In a roundabout way this actually *delegitimizes* the words and work of the people who were on the ground, since it implies that readers shouldn’t trust anything that hasn’t been “verified” (viewpoint-approved) by the Times

Tana Ganeva David Klion Peter Baker Peter, seems like you might be taking some strong positions on public issues? Have your standards changed since you said this four years ago? I'm on a bench calling you over, please respond

A big issue with this is whether one of peter's colleagues would get a note from the top for promoting chris hayes on this general topic (let alone someone a bit more strident).

If Netanyahu collapses a deal that looks like it’s on the verge of completion how long will it take Antony Blinken to issue a statement blaming Hamas? I say he’s already got one ready to go out.

political reporters often silence colleagues by claiming others lack of perceived neutrality makes their jobs harder. Does Peter Baker attacking protesters, on issues he doesn’t cover, makes his colleagues jobs easier or harder? Will he get a “your tweet” email?

This is parody. Noonan is an elitist, martini lunch, mini-Margaret Thatcher who writes about ordinary people, activists, or even the Borough of Brooklyn like she’s on an exotic safari.

college students referring me to their spokesperson is authoritarianism, American bombs wiping out entire family lines in Gaza is whatever, maybe nuanced and complex? my latest for The Atlantic

People who distrust the media often have a reason to. I never have the hubris to think anyone who is not an elected or public official is supposed to talk to me. And if you approach your job this way, it’s unsurprising when people refuse you.

the self proclaimed upholders of objectivity, neutrality and journalistic virtue are publicly attacking young people whose politics they don’t like because those young people dared to politely decline to be interviewed
