Held out as long we could. No more red heads.

Pros - reduced labour and OH&S risks.

Cons - heavy, everything is expensive, one sided heads, so many sensors & what’s with head no.2? Why does it think it’s special?

Thanks to Andrew O'Connor for continually answering his phone 😂

Last effective flower tagged 14/2/24 and one position above fully mature.
By the end of the week majority of fields will have had 1st pass defoliation done and into 2nd passes. Looking forward to see some April picked cotton this year in the Southern Valleys.

On seedlings, BRR-infected epidermal tissue is often sloughed off when the growing conditions become warmer and plants grow bigger (noticing to cracking zones).

Not usual to have black root rot (BRR) post in late season diseases, but we see more often of BRR pathogen colonising & blackening woody tissue. Would be useful if we can understand the infection from the epidermis on seedlings to the pith of mature plants.
