Do any other autistic people find that eating sometimes can feel like a way of stimming? The relaxation that comes with chewing on food, certain textures, and tastes. Some days, I feel like I eat more than other days as a way of stimming rather than being hungry.

I feel like one of the reasons why I get drained all the time is because I put all my energy into trying to be perfect all the time and that on its own is draining and exhausting.

Dislike it when schools punish students for forgetting a piece of equipment (e.g., a book or stationery), it's no big deal, it's neither intentional nor malicious, it just adds another level of anxiety for disabled students when it's already a stressful environment for them.

It's one thing to punish autistic people for not maintaining eye contact but it's also another thing to reward autistic people for managing to make eye contact when they usually struggle to which is equally bad, experienced it myself.
Schools should not do either, ever.

Absolutely disliked the years when I had to wear school uniform being autistic. Especially in the summer when I used to always be hot in it and really feel the itch and sensory hell of the clothing labels at its worst although it's pretty bad throughout the year.

If schools are going to force neurodivergent students to maintain eye contact, not stim and sit uncomfortably, education is going nowhere. This school doesn't give a shit, just fit in, that's why so many neurodivergent students end up masking and suffering.
Ableism at its worst.

Autism - thinking I'm so organised by keeping my keys in one visible place that I know I can definitely find them
ADHD - 10 minutes later, wastes 30 minutes looking at every corner for those keys and ends up finding them in that most obvious place ever
