Many who only have same-sex relationships don’t experience a lack of sexual attraction for the opposite sex. Instead they experience a discomfort/unwillingness to engage in the role they’re expected to perform with the opposite sex.

You stop hiding behind ironic detachment when you realise your reasons for doing so are way more ‘cringe’ than speaking earnestly.

People are less susceptible to audience capture if they realise that being adored for some opinions can feel just as hollow as being dismissed for them. Or they've learned how restrictive popularity can be from their youth.

If someone calls you a 'normie' what they’re usually saying is you don’t romanticise your discontent and aren’t addicted to a fringe and unhinged corner of the internet.

People who are insightful yet cruel are annoying because they let the anger of being misunderstood overtake their ability to communicate without mockery and insult, leaving them unheard by those who most desperately need to listen.

When you’re disaffected, it’s easy to come across online communities that feels like a breath of fresh air, but when you breathe it in for too long you realise its just another harmful gas masquerading as oxygen.

A therapist needs to publish a book called; Thoughts Most People Think Are Unusual But Are Actually Very Common, so we can all get over the idea that we are uniquely broken.

Every idea you outgrow is a lesson in why it’s wise to remain open to the possibility that you might be wrong.

It’s easier to recognise that you have subscribed to a destructive worldview than it is to realise that you’ve shifted to another corrosive outlook to overcompensate for your former beliefs.

If you can’t discuss an issue or idea without using online catchphrases and slogans, they are not your ideas.

The saddest part about talking to people who treat their identity as their most important feature is how it makes them overlook the vast majority of what actually makes them interesting.
