Judging from the STRONG response to this news, I’d expect Home Office, Metropolitan Police, Priti Patel MP & Cressida Dick to have a lot of explaining to do. Why was this not properly investigated? Who made the decision not to prosecute? Why?

Dr Zubaida Haque @BBCSangita This is why I always raise an eyebrow to those who say 'I don't believe it - they waited so long to bring it up'. Even if they brought it up in the same 10 secs in which the incident occurred, those same disbelievers are still unlikely to believe it without cast-iron evidence.

@BBCSangita It's all so easy, isn't it? 'Just' speak up, 'just' challenge it, 'just' find another job. It's really sickening that these men felt so justified in making appalling comments to their colleagues. I'm glad it's finally being exposed, even if it is tough listening

@BBCSangita Have covered enough employment tribunals to know that challenging anything at work is a time-consuming and thoroughly draining process, and everything is stacked against the individual. Most will choose to put up and shut up than endure it.

@BBCSangita I spoke out, was labelled and a massive denial and cover up campaign began. I ended up resigning and tried several times to get it looked into but always met a brick wall. Went to ACAS and gave up as I just couldn’t face the emotional upheaval of a court case.

@BBCSangita I'm Indian Punjabi and was lucky enough to go to Grammar school in the early 80s, but as the only non-white in the class, constantly being called p**i was pretty normal unfortunately. Admire Azeem Rafiq for his courage and strength. Makes me want to watch

Disgrace Kelly @BBCSangita Ian Brooker I’m appalled to hear this. I experienced this growing up in the 80s & 90s. Even grown men shouting the P word when I walked past the pub 1 afternoon as a young teen. Sending much love to you both. I have 3 kids of mixed heritage & it pains me to see the world is still like this.
