This is correct. A .550 OPS from Goldy & a sub-.700 OPS from Arenado is impossible for this team to overcome.

I’m genuinely shocked they’re not pinch-hitting for Victor Scott II here.

They can. They chose not to. It’s the top of the 8th inning. If you don’t score there or in the 9th, you have 1 inning left of catching. It would have been a perfectly acceptable PH.

My guess is he would’ve come in to hit for Scott if we got there.

I know they’re doing it for the platoon advantage + defense, but I would’ve preferred using Ivan Herrera to PH for Walker in that spot, and then using Burleson to PH for Scott if you end up getting to that spot. Then you bring in Siani to play CF.
