Just thanks as I've ended as the jhubiostat Chair. Dear department friends-so many of you being with me at my farewell meant so much; same to JHU friends & family. Feeling truly privileged as I paddle into the sunset (photo authentic!) of chair life relishing my & dept's future!
One of my last events as jhubiostat chair--first appointments and promotions dinner in four years; at Ravens Stadium. Trumpeting our faculty/trainee achievements is great! Too seldom I've uplifted our backbone--our staff. Cheers & thank you to our unsurpassed jhubiostat staff! They caringly and expertly pave the way for all we do. Associating with them has been a signature joy for me as chair.
High impact work on socio-economic disadvantage and older adults outcomes following critical care being report by Snigdha Jain MD, MHS. Early career faculty are the lifeblood of our The Pepper OAIC Coordinating Center network and the promise of improving health in #aging !
Welcome to our incoming jhubiostat students--12 PhD & 17 ScM strong! Yesterday's orientation together *in the same room* with so many was joyous and a feeling like none since early 2020. Eagerly looking forward to our coming year--thanks for making me feel young / enthusiastic!
I'm proud of this work evidencing major variation in older adults' health/functional trajectories after dialysis initiation and its connections to long-term survival, hence clinical implications for addressing #resilience upon stress. Melissa deCardi Hladek outstandingly led the work!
I am so pleased that this impactful work will continue! Congratulations, @ciprianstats ! Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
