Banff Bridge today. It feels like spring has arrived.

High Shore in Banff is home to the Merchant's House, seen here with the pink harling. To the right and off-screen is St Mary's Auld Kirkyard, which was the subject of a photo we shared yesterday.

In the centre of Banff lies the ancient cemetery of the ruined St Mary's Kirkyard dating from the 12th century, and over the road, the Market Arms Pub built in 1585, and the pink-harled building, Banff's ode to Scottish renaissance architecture, the Merchant House (1675).

A classic wooden sailboat, Marean from Dunbar, moored in Banff Marina today. She's gorgeous.

The Sail Loft in Portsoy around midday 6th January 2020. Glorious winter days with golden sun kisses, a bubbling ice cold burn, and just metres away from the beach for a dip before settling in front of a hot fire and a good book.

Tarlair Art Deco swimming pools in the winter sun. Just gorgeous any time of year tho.

Some of our lighthouses are small, yet hypnotically beautiful. This is Whitehills at the entrance to the marina, and a popular fishing spot too.

Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, and longest night. It was an important celebration for stone age people, and just above Macduff Distillery in a farm field, there lies the remains of a stone circle aligned with the seasons.

Banff's Christmas lights go on at 4pm, with a wee market fair beforehand starting at 2pm.

Come along to Castle St and enjoy the festivities, Sunday 1st December.

Cullen switches on their Christmas Lights on Thursday 28th November at the Cullen Bowling and Tennis Club between 5pm till 8pm.

This is sure to be a wonderful evening so don't be late!
