No good telling teachers they must xyz if SLT aren’t very obviously modelling, every single interaction, precisely what all staff supposed to do. Model over & over & narrate why, so staff can copy. I very rarely see effective SLT modelling around school.

Having a behaviour policy is useless unless:

1. Everyone knows what it is
2. Everyone knows what *they* are supposed to do to uphold it
3. Everyone knows *how* to implement it.
4. Everyone actually does it.

A number of people voice views on education & how those of us in schools should do our business. I wonder if they’ve ever felt the pressure & accountability of preparing children for Phonics screenings, multiplication checks, SATs, GCSEs & A Levels etc etc

I genuinely wonder at what point the narrative around suspension/exclusion will flip so the views of the victims (staff & pupils), the disruption to learning, loss of pastoral/snr leader time, level of support & associated cost are actually considered fully & properly

There are millions worldwide prescribed stimulants & labeled ADHD because they are struggling to stare at a computer screen all day & who scroll on their phone for entertainment & distraction. We have collectively lost our minds.
