V pleased with my solution to prevent 🦇🦇flying under the door into St Andrews, Holcombe, Somerset, cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust. The worn threshold tells of the centuries of parishioners that had passed over it & couldn’t be replaced so I cast a new removable section into it ⤵️
A great story from the Bats in Churches project, help a church in Diocese of Truro to reopen and live with their bats.

Thanks to @batsinchurches we now have two Peersonic bat detectors to help us survey more churches next year. Thank you! We are hoping we can send more data than ever to National Bat Monitoring Programme (NBMP) next year.
That's all, folks! The delivery phase of the £5m five-year Bats in Churches project concludes tomorrow. What an amazing five years we've all had, but now it's time to say thank you, and goodbye. batsinchurches.org.uk/2023/10/23/tha…

Ever wondered why bats are attracted to churches? 🦇
Our Bats in Churches partnership project featured on BBC Countryfile yesterday, showcasing how medieval churches provide a safe space for bats to roost.

Did you catch us on BBC Countryfile last night? Presenter Joe Crowley met project manager Kate and ecologist Phil at St Margaret in Saxlingham to hear about our work with the church and its resident Natterer's bats. Catch it again here (46.25)
