Today I joined a support group Zoom for people caring for a relative w dementia.

I was asked to give a brief intro re why I was there.

Halfway through (~1 min), someone said on mic, “They always say to be brief & they never are.”

Super supportive.

I left, feeling re-broken.

The child wants us to start an Etsy or something to make and sell “Kinda Clucked Up Chikkins” 😂 like a chikkin sweatshop. 😐

There was a code red at my child's school today. Not a drill code red but an actual code red. The phone call, the text, my kid huddled in the corner of the room, my leaving work, the police, the news, the helicopters, the whole metaphorical enchilada.

There is a large police presence at Enloe High School due to the code-red lockdown. Raleigh Police Officers are at the school investigating. We are asking everyone not to respond to the campus. We will provide updates on our social media platforms.

My MAGA dad shows up at our house whenever he feels like it, with no heads-up.

My house is not my house anymore.
It's not my safe place.
It's not my oasis.

I know there are worse things, and I’m lucky to have a house, but I’m grieving this loss right now.
