This is a great analogy, except he’s got the characters the wrong way around. It is the climate scientists that are Galileo, who was in favour of evidence and reason, surrounded by wingnut conspiracy theorists like Vivek who are the religious zealots of today.

Prominent climate change denier James Delingpole had a column in The Telegraph for a long time to tell us all how stupid we are for imagining that anything humans can do might change the climate. It’s sort of funny, in a dark kind of a way, to see the mental gymnastics now.
