Birch Aquarium is hosting María Fernandez from Gran Acuario Mazatlán in Mazatlán, Mexico — the largest aquarium in Mexico that focuses on animals local to the Sea of Cortez. María is spending a month with us volunteering with our Husbandry Team!

#Rockfish often like to hide in or near rocky habitats. If you’re lucky you might even see a rockfish do its best impression of a rock — staying nice and still — the next time you visit the aquarium.

The next Perspectives on Ocean Science Lecture— Understanding Atmospheric Rivers: Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes — takes place April 8, from 7-8 p.m. Lectures are free for members and $12 for the general public.
