This is nuts. I actually disagree with you (hi Leslie Jamison !) about the right to protest in this fashion. But I totally agree that the university here has abdicated its responsibility to justify its actions in an educational context. This is no different than a flash flood alert.

As usual, UChicago really gets this right. I'm curious to see if the center holds, and inspired by the way a great university is attempting to be true to its principles at a time when all sides seem to be pushing against them.

It's weird to me how many people on here don't seem to understand (or pretend not to understand) the difference between free speech and civil disobedience. Or to understand that civil disobedience does have consequences.
