Today Year 3 have been investigating 4 different soils to see which were the best drainers and soakers.

In 3B we found that the woodland and school ground soils were the best at draining water, while Miss Smith and Miss Rice had soaker soils in the gardens.

The children in year 4 have enjoyed the immersive part of our writing sequence. Here you can see the children taking part in ‘Conscience Alley’ in which a child takes on the role of a character and one side persuades whilst the other dissuades.

Year 3 had a lovely trip to the farm yesterday to support our learning around cave art. We sketched the animals to create our final pieces of cave art using our charcoal skills and exploration of natural paints. We even had a go at doing this under the table like in a real cave!

Yesterday, the children in Reception received a letter from Helen the Hen asking for help. Over the next week we will be learning all about the life-cycle of chicken as part of our immersion in our writing sequence.

Stay tuned to watch the eggs hatch and see what we get up to🐓

Today in Year 3 we have been investigating rocks and fossils. We couldn’t believe some of them were 300 million years old! Some of the fossils were really heavy too!
