I’m a grief therapist. All day, every day I listen to grieving people. And they all talk about how the dismissal of their grief and sadness by others impacts and deepens their pain. They also talk about how the kindness of others makes a positive difference. This is my point. 1/2

Mental health hack: 'Burnout' doesn't change by taking time off. That just allows for resiliency to come back & endure more. The 'cure' for burnout is making real changes that restructure the experience you're having so you're not in a cycle of filling your tank & running it dry.

Grief is a healthy reaction to loss. This realization is often, both, a relief and a burden (that pain can’t be taken away, nor pushed around).

How we engage with our own grief definitely matters.

A Halloween story of intersectionality and love.

Me, a Black neurodivergent man forgot yesterday was Halloween so I whipped up a costume so (unintentionally) obscure no one understood it but the wife & kids.

After we left the house to go trick-or-treating things got heavy...

Started up therapy with a new therapist .. so looking forward to having another voice and perspective involved in my story.

Wish I had more psychopharmacology education in school. Anyone know of good CE for therapists in that realm?
