'They always split, go around us, and reform on the other side!' -Things meteorologists hear alllll the time. ๐Ÿ™„
Below is just to show that it *can* happen. But not as often as you think it happens. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Incredible day. After grinding on my thesis for several days and finally completing it last night, I was able to get out and experience Mother Natureโ€™s fury once again. Documented this tornado NW of Robert Lee while getting hammered by tennis balls

Geeesh. Another situation in which two distinct updrafts co-existing and staying strong because both updrafts have unimpeded air. I don't remember seeing this occur as frequently as it's been happening recently ...? Cameron Nixon

The Loveland, OK storm in full beast-mode having its way in southern Oklahoma last night.

View is from the south looking north from across the Red River.

A view of the back side of what would soon become the Loveland, OK supercell at sunset. It had just dropped a tornado s/e of Tipton. View is from the west near Elmer.

Two updrafts, two mesocyclones! So close to each other, but both produced tornadoes. Normally when you have storms this close to each other, one usually becomes dominant quickly. But both stayed strong. How? Unimpeded flow. Both updrafts kept undisturbed inflow. Just incredible.

Looks like the scene straight out of Twister when they dropped that tanker truck in front of them late in the movie. But this is real ... and terrifying!
