Some very nice people made a very violent horror movie, and the Music Box of Horrors programming team is obsessed — so much so, we're presenting its screening Chicago Critics Film Festival. May 4! 9:45! Tickets at the link!

This is BIG BIG news!! KiKi Layne is coming to the Music Box Theatre with her new film DANDELION.

Not only is it her best performance since IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK, it's also a major achievement by writer/director Nicole Riegel, who will also be in attendance.

I can personally vouch for Thelma, In a Violent Nature, I Saw the TV Glow, Good One, and Handling the Undead. Can't wait to catch the rest:

We had several successive front-page NYT stories about Biden being an 'elderly man with a poor memory,' and why this was a crisis for the Dems.

So we'll have two or three front-pagers on this theme.

Right?

Pam Adlon is coming to CCFF! As someone who championed Better Things for its entire run, this is such a wonderful gift. She rules.

BABES - Q&A with director Pamela Adlon

Starring Michelle Buteau and Ilana Glazer, BABES is a hilarious and heartfelt comedy about the bonds of friendship and the messy, unpredictable challenges of adulthood and becoming a parent.

I couldn't be more excited that we're bringing Jane Schoenbrun's brilliant, shattering I SAW THE TV GLOW to Chicago for this year's Chicago Critics Film Festival. It's already one of the defining films of 2024.
