Having also attended this briefing I wholeheartedly endorse the call for the report to be retracted from Meg Webb.

A report based on incomplete information &/or information received in a contextual vacuum cannot be solely relied upon.

Gross to see finance types nitpicking McKim asking for a particular figure in the supermarkets committee. You don’t have to agree with his approach to know the Woolworths boss was obliged to answer. Are you just looking for a way to avoid the actual argument being made?

I just listened to the bulk of this exchange on The ABC Vic Country Hour. It’s an extraordinary performance by the arrogant outgoing Woolworths CEO. Excellent & delightfully persistent questioning by the Greens’ Senator McKim. More please.

A fabulous eccentric and clearly passionate about his work and the quality of the food we eat. I’m sure his influence has been significant.

A brilliant contribution from Professor Fels this morning dismantling the facile arguments against divestiture powers.

Interesting read.Where did we go wrong? Not diversifying, propping up old industries, not evolving with industrial/technological revolutions, diverting funds from finite resources to keep towns alive and old jobs going rather than re/upskilling...

There was basically no difference in Banducci's attitude in the committee to how he was on 4 Corners.

Difference is when you appear before the Senate you have to answer. Not sure why any journo would dislike that aspect.

But I guess I don't need Woolworths to buy advertising

Sorry what? This guy is tweeting conspiracy theories from inside the Russian embassy in Sydney?

How did I not know this? Did you know this? And why am I finding out from British media? What?

Last month I asked about Labor rejecting visas for Gazans fleeing the genocide.

We now know 150 people were rejected because Labor thought they may not return to Gaza.

This was an utterly cold-blooded move, likely condemning innocent people to death.

One thing that saddens me is that I personally know men who would not have believed this if I had ever tried to explain it, no matter how carefully I did so…. But now that a male authority figure has said it they might. If you’re this guy, now would be a good time to reflect.

For men to break out of the Man Box, we must first accept that we do not have the right to dominate and control others. For some of us, that realization is a great relief. But for some of us, it feels like the loss of core identity, and so their panic and violence accelerates. /7

When hierarchy/dominance are the core mechanisms by which we develop our identities, being told that others refuse to be dominated feels like an attack on our identity. Panic of loss of self rises which accelerates the urge to dominate/control others to unprecedented levels. /6

Millions of us have been calling for a ceasefire to stop the loss of life and prevent a wider conflict.

Political leaders have chosen to ignore us — and their failure to facilitate de-escalation has endangered everyone.

The world is in a truly perilous state. It’s time to…
