FOI is crucial in holding executive to account in

Information on redundancies, senior management pay, finances & grievance statistics should be public accessible

Very wrong for valid FOI requests to be ruled 'vexatious' or 'troublesome'

I want to be very clear. I submit FOIs of SMT correspondence b/c such communications ARE newsworthy, esp. as UoA's public perspective on issues like strikes or RAAC are often unclear and opaque.

To suggest I submit FOIs to cause annoyance or disruption is simply comical.

So Minouche Shafik forgot about shared governance at US universities. Maybe because it hasn't applied in any meaningful way in the UK for decades. She's probably wistful for the REF, TEF and performance management, thinking that'd tighten those tenured radicals.

I visited and poured out a libation at the site of Sam Smith lynching last Saturday.

Smith was murdered at this site on December 14, 1924. That year, a lynching occurred roughly every 22 days.

Looking for somewhere in the North East to do a two month work placement, preferably something relevant to my work - history based, social justice/equality based, in culture/the arts - essentially somewhere important and rewarding I can give two months free labour to. Any ideas?!

Recently I wrote an article for the Dictionary of Welsh Biography about Youhannah El Karey, Palestinian Baptist Missionary who preached in Wales and became the son-in-law of Moses Roper. Check it out!

If you think your company has a 'sick note culture', you might just have a terrible management culture instead.

The vast majority of workplace dysfunction I have seen as an employment lawyer stemmed from incompetent or abusive leadership - not lazy employees.
