I highly appreciate this viewpoint, but I believe the real 'David vs. Goliath' challenge is the unprivileged reality that Global South ERCs face, including lack of funding for APCs, North-dominated editorial boards, and geographically biased reviewers. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/el…

And here's the letter from the @naacp. It's good to read all of it rather than just a few excerpts in news media round-ups, if you can. naacp1org-my.sharepoint.com/personal/amerc…

great. next would be great to hear from state political leaders, prominent alums (former players would be even better), top high school and 7-on-7 coaches, educators, and local columnists and radio hosts. but it's all getting started! espn.com/college-sports…

ICYMI: Maybe black parents, coaches and public officials can rally together to make an example of the University of Florida. But if it happens to catch on and UT, OU, Auburn, etc, are affected too, great. Even better. ❤️

A thing that sucks is there was a real critique about DEI programs from the left, about its limitations. but from the right, it's pretty much just bigotry.

And if UF wants to align itself w/that, then it's fair to ask black folks—esp. recruits—why they want to sign up for that

The Alligator pretending to take Nelson’s new title at face value by not using quotation marks is a deliciously passive-aggressive response to BS ghosting them for months.

I’m not gonna lie, seeing UF’s decision to remove the DEI department is really bothering me. Very heartbreaking, disappointing, frustrating and a huge step backwards.
