Despite a raging housing crisis St. Thomas - Elgin found a way to cut chronic homelessness by 30% in just seven months.

BRIGHT SPOT: St. Thomas-Elgin reduces chronic homelessness by 30% in just seven months!!

The community found homes for 126 people experiencing homelessness. The reduction is a direct result of the local service providers coming together.

Last week, Budget 2024 was released by Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, with the boldest federal plan for housing in 50 years.

While it's good news for fixing the housing crisis, more must be done to address rising homelessness.
