A man hits a very large, slow-moving, peaceful creature at close range with a high-powered rifle to help him feel like more of a man. Legal, endangered, threatened, or none of the above, it's still wrong and barbaric. Please RT if you think all trophy hunting should be outlawed.

'Whales don't fill any halls and there's no one who boos or claps in a group of fin whales, but the parliament has entrusted me by law to look after these interests and that's what I'm doing' - Svandis Svavarsdóttir at a meeting of the Icelandic Parliament's Economic Development…

Fascinating development out of Iceland. And bravo to the authorities there. A number of countries routinely violate their own laws when it comes to whales, as if they somehow don’t qualify as mammals. Let’s hope they follow through now!

The harm done to Iceland’s reputation far outweighs any supposed economic benefits. Whaling is an exceptionally stupid, environmentally expensive & morally indefensible way to contribute to your economy. Enough already.

This is one of the saddest images. A magnificent apex predator, king of the ocean, reduced to begging for food with their mouths open like baby birds waiting to be fed. The very essence of what these animals are has been stolen from them. How is this entertainment? SMH.

Killing whales at the same time as we battle climate change is one of the more dangerous and foolish things we humans do, not to mention one of the most immoral.

If promoting whale meat wasn't disgusting enough, Japanese whale hunting company, Kyodo Senpaku, is now promoting the sale of cosmetic products made from slaughtered whales. 👇

Insanely cruel treatment of sapient beings who also happen to be key allies in our battle against climate change. Can humans really be this stupid?

So disappointing that this horror still needs to work its way through a number of “new markets” before we’re done. Would that we could follow India’s lead and bypass this injustice altogether.

Even if the bogus claims of conservation/educational benefits were true, we still could not justify the captivity of such a being. Wrong on so many levels!

Did you know there was once a species of dolphin called baiji?

The baiji was the first dolphin species driven to extinction by humans. 😔

The baiji was the only member of the mammal family called Lipotidae. This is because the baiji had unique features which were not shared…

We cannot continue to allow more captive orcas to live and die alone in barren tanks for the sake of profit.
Become a voice for them. Go to bit.ly/OrcasInCaptivi… and spread the word about the reality of cetacean captivity to your friends, family, and followers.
