In our regiment, we pride ourselves on the phrase, “Once a Rifleman, always a Rifleman”, which is why, as part of The Rifleman’s Association we set up the Always A Rifleman Programme to support our veterans who are in crisis. This includes antecedent and forming regiments.

“Fix Swords!” is a command given to our Riflemen when they are about to engage in close combat with the enemy.

In The Rifles, we call it a sword, not a bayonet.

“It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward”

Happy Birthday to us! The Rifles were formed in 2007 from the amalgamation of our four forming regiments: Devonshire and Dorset Regiment, The Light Infantry, Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment and The Royal Green Jackets.

Congratulations to the 2 RIFLES Nordic Ski team who have qualified for the Army Championships, Ex RUCKSACK, in Ruhpolding, Germany.

The team achieved our best ever finish at the Divisional Championships, placed fourth out of 32 teams and achieved the Battalion’s first podium.

All the best to the Army Men’s Senior Rugby team this evening, especially our very own Capt Ackers and Rfn Ravuvu.
