Excited to kick off Srijain Man Shrestha’s participation in the UN ECOSOC President #Youth2030 Forum with a meeting with Amb. Bob Rae to discuss how youth can meaningfully participate in the @UN to achieve the #SDGs .

On the margins of #UNPFII , Minister Anandasangaree met w/ the UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of #IndigenousPeoples , Francisco Calí Tzay Rel. Esp. s/los DD de los Pueblos Indígenas ONU. They discussed the enhanced participation of Indigenous Peoples at the UN, his visit to Canada & his reported recommendations.

Canada's #UNPFII welcome reception this morning was an opportunity to welcome all those on the Canadian Delegation as well as Indigenous representatives.

Wisdom was shared by Elders and knowledge keepers, and inspirational remarks were shared by Metis and First Nations youth.

We’re delighted that Minister of GCIndigenous Gary Anandasangaree is here for the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. He will engage w/ his counterparts, w/ Indigenous Peoples, & Indigenous youth, from around the world during this important session.

At the DPRK Panel of Experts veto initiative debate today, Ambassador Bob Rae delivered a statement reiterating Canada’s great disappointment concerning Russia’s use of the veto to weaken global non-proliferation efforts.

Speaking on behalf of CANZ, we regretted the veto of a draft SC resolution that would have condemned Hamas’ October 7th attacks; called on Israel to remove obstacles to humanitarian assistance; and reiterated commitment to the two-state solution.
