Employers requiring sick notes is often just externalizing costs onto employees and the health system.

Boarding pts in a hall on a med/surg floor has better outcomes than boarding them in the ER.

The morning census says there are 65 pts in our 53 bed ER, 50 of those are admits waiting for beds. 😕

Most solutions to problems in healthcare shift the responsibility to emergency department doctors.

No fewer than five cat beds in the house, but they all insist on using the play couch.

Went to my dad’s proper retirement send-off in Morell. Nice to see how much the community appreciates his work. Especially since it’s where he grew up so there’s a decent amount of teasing taking place.

You would think that my kids would trust my assessment of their minor injuries and illnesses considering that I am literally an emergency department physician.

On the way home the kids and I crossed paths with a group of six bald eagles hunting and chasing each other.

We stopped to watch and listen. There was another car stopped too.

Was very embarrassed when I realized he wasn’t stopped to watch. I was blocking his driveway.

Milo is a very good boy and had a bath and got a tiny puppy bandana.

It is beautiful out! Opening all the windows and starting the spring cleaning. Kick the kids outside and just scrub. I have so much to do!

Need to get the yard ready for gardens and a fire pit too.
