June 10, 1955: Newspaper owner Raymond Fitzpatrick and editor Frank Browne were called by the House of Representatives to appear before the Bar of the Chamber on privileges charges. MPs voted they be committed to 90 days in jail. It is the only time Parliament has jailed anyone.
