1986 #Fleer isn’t packed full of great action shots, but there are certainly some. Honestly, it seemed almost every card of #DonnieBaseball , #Rickey & #Pudge in the ‘80s was a great pic. And we got one more angle of #MrOctober ’s classic follow-through! 😍

Thumbed thru my ‘86 #Fleer set this weekend - will be posting random bits on it. First off, since Fleer #’d cards based on teams’ finishes, ‘86 begins w/ #Royals & #Cardinals . I have no recollection of either of these two former SB leaders playing for these clubs. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t care if he’s a catcher w/ only 20 steals over his 24 yr career…Rick Dempsey is looking to beat this bad boy out & is not just giving himself up w/ an easy sac bunt! Might as well get 2 guys on base to set yourself up for Weaver’s beloved 3-run HR! 😉👍

My #MailDay got me 1 “playing era” card closer to all 1900- HOFers. #EagleEye ⭐️’d 1888-1907 retiring 2nd all-time in hits (2930). Jake STILL ranks 4th in triples (244) & 1st in putouts (23,767). The 1Bman w/ .309 career BA is also in #Pirates & #Reds HOFs. (T206 is w/ AAA KC.)

This #Phillies hurler is at just 4% despite his EPIC ‘71 no-hitter, one of greatest 1-game performances ever: Wise no-hit the #Reds AND jacked 2 HRs! (Only MLBer ever to do so.) The #Cardinals took notice & swapped this #Lefty for Rick, making this trade his lasting legacy.😬🤷‍♂️

The #PineTarGame is always helpful for #ImmaculateGrid . Gold glove winning pitcher put in OF & GG winning lefty 1B put at 2B. Then for any “min 1 game” at 2B or SS, I pick a longtime SS or 2B assuming they at some point manned the opposite keystone position.😉

Of all pitchers w/ 500+ starts since 1900, here are 3 w/ worst run support over career. This timeless Texan is 1st getting just 3.80 runs/game, this slippery #HOFer 2nd at 3.92 & #TomTerrific is 3rd w/ 3.94. Amazing to me none in Top 3 are from #DeadBallEra . (Stat from this bio.)

This #Mets icon made 105 starts for NY in which he went 9+ IP innings & allowed 1 run or less…he was 90-3 w/ 12 no decisions. In those 12 NDs, Tom was terrific, posting a 0.38 ERA over 117 IP, but no W to show for it. In 15 1-0 games w/ #Mets , Seaver was 6-9. #NoSupport 😬🤷‍♂️

Which is the more distracting/noticeable infielder “card pose issue”: Speier having his batting glove on his throwing hand or Fox & Martin seemingly unaware that they’ve already actually FIELDED the ball?!🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ (It’s a given these poses have no infield dirt in sight.)😂 #collect
